Lines/text missing from display due to video resolution too high.
Cause:
The video resolution specified in Windows 95 exceeds the resolution display capability of the display unit.
Solution:
Select or install a video driver that matches or is less than the resolution limit of the display unit.
CAUTION: It is possible to set the resolution and color palette on non-standard video adapters where it will be difficult, if not impossible, to read what is on the screen or find the mouse. If this happens, boot the system in 'Safe Mode' and restore the previous resolution and color palette settings using the same steps in the procedure below.
NOTE: Experiment with the effects of the resolution changes. Start with the lowest 'Color palette' (16 colors) and 'Desktop size' (640 x 480) selection and continue until the desired effect is reached.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Display' icon. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Settings' tab.
5) Slide the slider bar to the left to select a lower resolution.
6) Click 'OK'. (The 'System Settings Change' dialog box appears.)
7) Click 'Yes' to restart the system and for the changes take effect now.
NOTE: Click 'No' to have the changes made the next time the computer is rebooted.
